Mondetta Charity Foundation

About Our Charity

Established in 2004, the Mondetta Charity Foundation (MCF) was created as a way to give back to our founders’ homelands of Uganda and Kenya, with a focus on reaching children, the region's most vulnerable demographic.

Since the beginning, Mondetta has strived for three dimensions of sustainability: environmental, economic, and social. It is only by keeping all three dimensions balanced that we can truly achieve sustainability.

— Ash Modha, CEO, Mondetta Canada Inc.

Mondetta mourns the passing of Kishor (Kish) L. Modha (December 30, 1943 – April 12, 2026), a beloved family member, mentor, and foundational figure in the history of Mondetta Clothing.

From the earliest days of the business, Kish played an instrumental role in helping bring Mondetta to life. His unwavering belief and support helped guide the company through its formative years—whether by providing early financial support, assisting with operations across Western Canada, or offering thoughtful leadership as the organization grew. Over time, he became a trusted presence within the company, contributing across human resources, governance, and global social compliance, always leading with fairness, humility, and care for others.

Kish’s most enduring contribution is reflected in the creation and growth of the Mondetta Charity Foundation. His compassion and commitment to giving back helped establish a mission focused on supporting vulnerable children in East Africa. What began in 2005 with the restoration of a single school serving 450 students has grown into an institution that now educates more than 2,500 children—changing thousands of lives and creating opportunities for generations to come.

Kish Modha’s legacy is one of generosity, purpose, and quiet leadership. He believed deeply in lifting others, and that belief continues to shape Mondetta and its global community today.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Why We Give

It is our mission to contribute to a brighter tomorrow for all children, no matter where they live. Through our core values of partnership, community and inclusion, we seek to eliminate barriers and enhance the lives of impoverished and disadvantaged children through access to educationhealth & nutrition, alongside gender equality programs.

Education

Education is a basic human right for all, and we believe every child should have equal access to quality learning environments, free of discrimination. We work to develop flexible, educational programs that support the unique needs of each community.
